whats the best way to find out the most memory/hdspace i can put on my p3 mainboard..
I have a Intel PCIset mainboard (i forget the serial #) and a P3 450mhz cpu (overclocked right now to 504mhz) w/ a 256MH SDRAM 133mhz chip in it.
What is the best way to go about finding the biggest harddrive I can put on a single IDE cable on that board? What is the best way to go about finding the biggest ram chip I can put in a single RAM Bank? I want to put a 120gig hd and a 512MB SDRAM 133mhz chip on my board but I can't find specs anywhere that tell me if I can. |

The best way is to buy RAM in varying sizes from 32MB through 1GB and just plug them into your board until it stops working. Repeat the same thing for harddrives from 300MB -> 120GB.
Yes, it may cost me a little money, but at least I'll know! ---John Holmes... PS: Google for your board type and look for a product sheet. Simple. |
