when should you quit?

This poll is for anyone who has spent hours at a time on the forums at devshed. When should just turn off the computer and take a walk outside (on the beach in my case)?

When the vision starts to double, it gets hard to write proper code (not that I've posted any code here during the last two months). Unfortunately no one so far has written an interpreter or a compiler that has a "double vision" feature

Help! I'm trapped in binky's tag conspiracy!!

I think the double vision is a sufficient time to go out and get yourself some clean air. But my question is who spends that much time in the forums. When I come here, I look through all forums and threads that interest me answer to those I feel I can distribute and then I'm off. I might return after a few hours or only the next day (depending what goes on in the forums).

I just leave a browser window sitting on the forums all the working day, not that I'm there to help all the time... but it's easier than closing the page and starting it up again.

never quit!!

You should of had a none of the above option. Instead I put all of the above, that's about the same...sounds the same...

I really don't come around here much anyhow...

And the 'mod' option is a good one..some of you people creep me out....

realnowhereman, hope nobody catches onto that one as it could seriously confuse people who have just joined the forums.

I haven't given up an avatar, it just may take a while... so the pretty picture will just change now and then.

I have to admit that I have frequenty stayed up the entire night posting disgramaticalistic and ortogaffically discorrect posts on various forums, despite double vision and a thumping headache from lack of sleep, and then gone to lectures and practicals and done the same thing the next night again. Why isn't there a box for me on that poll? I guess you just didn't see me coming.

Let's just say I spent so much time in the perl forums (stupid activestate server is down at the moment...) that every time I see a dollar sign in a store I always read it as "scalar such and such". Did it out loud to the clerk once: "Hey! Is this only scalar 99!?" Now... THAT's embarassing.. and of course you can't sit and explain it to them.

I think you need to prioritise things a little: always drink at the computer or take a palmtop with you to the bar. It should never be an either/or choice between drinking and using the comp.
