Where on earth are you?
I don't know about you, but I quite often look at people's 'location' data and at their profiles.. Especially people who are in the UK.. Why don't you list your towns aswell? I'm quite sad, really, and I kinda think it would be nice to know if there is another 1333t h4X0r living down the road. Swindon is a very lonely place, y'know !

myself, 1ain and Silky (when he's not in brazil)..
Swindon is on the M4 between Bath and Reading. There is no LUG in the area, no 2600-esque meets, no herlpackers.. nothing. At the moment, it's just me and 1ain (actionscript/DHTML guru).

LUG = Linux User Group
2600 = look at 2600.com
herlpackers = Perl Hackers

etc.. Groups of people who get together sometimes, drink beer and consider breaking something, (usually eachother's will to live, due to bad jokes, vi/emacs warfare etc..)

Well I am in Perth, Western Australia and we do have a LUG which I am not part of never got around to it, I am also one of those trolls who don't like using Linux as a desktop pc. Have used it on servers for years and love it to bits but cant stand the thought of using it to replace Windows XP or better 2K. Yeah yeah, go ahead flame me

But OpenSource is making good moves around here, starting to see some Linux IT companies opening shop over here. A lot of web dev firms are employing PHP programmers, its really looking good.

Overall IT is in a bit of a low point atm with jobs becoming hard to find. Its what happens when there is a shortage of jobs, people go and study IT and then all of a sudden there are heaps of people and not enough jobs.
