Why no ASP?
Why is there no ASP here at DevShed? I love the website and all, but ASP is the serverside language I use. Why do you have just about everything EXCEPT that?

This is an open source web development site and ASP is not open source.

But, interestingly enough, Java is not open source either, and Devshed has a Java section.
So, if Devshed really is only for and about open source, then we had better get rid of the Java section... . But we all know that the Java section is going to stay. I personally would have no problem with a discussion area about ASP and .NET. But, you will find that most of the Devshed members tend to prefer open source tools. Moebius - the way things work around here is just that you send an email to the forum administrator, who is Zeus, and ask. If Zeus thinks there should be an ASP section, then it will be granted. I imagine there probably haven't been that many requests for ASP here, though, since there are so many other ASP forums around.

Oh rycamor, you forgot to mention the windows section then...
![]() But as you say, if there are enough requests, there might pop up an ASP section here as well. The easiest thing would probably be to put up a poll to see if there are people interested in having ASP here... //NoXcuz

Oh yeah... the Windows section! That just goes to show how much time I spend in there

Forum wise, I think after reading a previous thread here in the lounge (the replies by rycamor), I think that maybe a forum dedicated to Mozilla/XUL would be a very/very/very nice addition to the forum roster here on DevShed. Maybe a Poll would be a nice thing to post, something like -->
Should there be more forums added to the community (poll answers) Add Mozilla/XUL forum Add ASP forum Add both Mozilla/XUL and ASP forum Add none of the above ---------------------------------------- Well, maybe I will just add a poll now. If something needs to be added to the answers, PM me and I will edit the poll..... We can see how the poll goes, and if it goes well, send an email to Zeus to review....

There is also a UNIX section which is not open source either!
Definitley, with the .NET gaining more and more momentum as a web development platform, it only makes sense to add a .NET section.
