Windows XP Internet Gateway
Hi everybody,
I have a small home network (workgroup based) There is one main machine with a dial-up ISDN connection. The main PC has Internet Connection Sharing Enabled and the other computers just seemed to find the connection. After re-installing one of the machines (all run on Windows XP) and re-configuring it to run on the network, it seemed to make a connection under internet connections as "Main Connection on Computer A" - the main sharing computer. I cannot for the life of me access the internet. It says the internet connecting is enabled and present but there is no internet access. Does anyone know why this is and how I can sort it? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks as always. Simon |

In order for your computer to get to the 'net, it needs to know the gateway and have some dns numbers.
Things to check: 1) Can you ping the other machines, the isdn router/modem? 2) Can you see the other machines in Network Places? 3) Start->Run->type cmd then in dos window type ipconfig, do the numbers match what you know is your setup? 4) Check your dns
