Great Xbox Forums site for sale 1700 members, yahoo listing, plenty of traffic. Great money making potential wish I had time to work on it, but too many sites and too much college work to take care of it.

What exactly is for sale?

The whole site...and the domain.

'The whole site' as in all databases, all ownershipts and all properties owned by that community or what? Is it possible to talk to somebody from the inside? Preferably administrator (not forum, server admin). I am interested why statistics are dated only one month ago. Is it possible to get access to raw logs?

From what I see, this is second time owners put this up for sale. First time it went up to $600 but hadn't met the reserve hence wasn't sold. Is it possible to let me know the reserve? There's some talk on forums about leaving when it gets sold, so I want to get as much information as possible before putting a single dollar into this.

Yes the whole site...as in everything. Not sure why anyone would sell a piece of a site.

The stats are only a month old cause I just put the stat counter up. Webtrends was on the site, but as you know they have cancelled their free services.

Ok, for everyone's benefit I'll ask questions here.

First of all - you've seen this coming - why selling? It's a pretty big community (for it's purpose) and people there do not approve the sale. Why?

Secondly, are you locked in to any contracts? Hosting, banners, stats, etc. What those "proudly sponsored by" guys have to do with the site? Do you have some contract with them or something?

In your opinion, how many % of users will be lost when forum changes owners (please don't bull**** on this one)?

I am selling because I do not have time to run this site. I am a college student. I have no idea why people have said that...but I have put up a post I hope will sway people. I can't see a reason why anyone would want to leave. Even if a couple did...5 more people will sign up every day.

No contracts. those are just random sponsors through commision junction and such.

I dont think there will be any loss. If the new owner strives to keep the forums moderated and up to date I think the only thing that will come out of it is more users.

You know that there are laws that prohibit the sale of personal information?

Hmmm... when xbox forum is typed into Google you appear as result number 86. Great ranking. You appear as number one when you type in Xbox forums but most people i would imagine would type in xbox forum without the s.

Nah, I hanged out here for some time and it's quite nice. Other than the fact that vast majority of visitors are underage, but I'm sure that's a benefit for many bidders.

Yes I bailed out of this, but surely not because of reeldrunk. Matter of fact they gave me quite a laugh with that discussion. C'mon you gotta cut those kids some slack. The reason why I'm not pursuing that forum is simply because it's not worht it financialy wise.

Chaz, good luck with the sale - I hope you get what you ask for, I really do. There's a potential in that forum, but it needs a lot of work, which I can't provide at the moment.

But a combined gameplatform-site would make sense offcourse Also some things besides the forum e.g. news, walkthroughs, lists with topscores whatever (as far as they're not already present ) could be nice.
