XP install problem ISSCRIPT.MSI
Have a friend who is running XP that gets this error when trying to install programs.

Catastrophic Failure

It says it is looking for ISSCRIPT.MSI can some help me out..

Do you have some more info on it?

1. What are you trying to install specifically?
2. Have they successfully installed anything since XP was installed?
3. Does it give a path that it's looking for ISSCRIPT.MSI?
4. Are you sure this file is a WinXP file and not a file for the program you're trying to install?

This is a friends system so I get the second hand story hehehe
I myself would never install XP on anything..

1) it is when they install most anything not really consistant
2) Things have been successfully installed since this problem just started happening
3) It gives you a registry key and asks if you want to search for iisscript.msi
4) Well I am not sure if it is an XP file the only place that I have found info is on InstallShields site.

thank you i have been having a horrible time with the isscript.msi, and finally got it fixed for me, it was, i needed a new CD rom, it quite working and when i put a new one in, i could again install programs, have no clue why, but it worked, thanks for all the great ideas, still dont know what it is, werid, thanks mgiseburt
