Is it just me or are all your posts some sort of research for your site?

My greatest Internet accomplishment? Putting up with people like you who waste my time on it.
If all you're going to do is advertise your site, buy an adspace from DevShed. Otherwise, start posting something relevant or stop posting altogether. |

Mr Shameless Plug I would say... upgrading to 3.0 mb up/down high speed internet service! Of course 2 years from now, I'll be sitting here wondering how I got anything done at 3.0 mbps (sheesh!)

My greatest internet achievement.........
Adding aaa to my ignore list, and search-engines-web.com to the lists of websites that I'll never visit or do business with. |

Did you look at the site? This crap would IMO be of no use anyway...
Enough of this, this forum is not for collecting back-links. If anybody disagrees with this, feel free to discuss this with me via PM. Regards, M.Hirsch

Your argument on his intent for posting is valid, I agree.. However... He did select the right forum to post on. For link popularity or not, it's still a valid post. I am not saying, that he did not deserve the ban or that it was right or wrong. (not my place) Just that... I do the same thing, my signature promotes popularity for website templates as well as my personal website... Do I get banned as well? |

Don't get me wrong. I am usually not fast at banning people, worse spammers have got warnings first. But people only coming here posting only **** (sorry for the wording) imo don't deserve my patience. In my eyes he was trying to cover his spam with nonsense questions. Of course you won't get banned. Using your sig to promote your site is "valid use" as long as you are not spamming. My "personal policy" is: if there is one useful post by this user, he gets a warning first or we (the moderators and admins) discuss about it first internally. But search the forums for the posts by "aaa"... ![]() Hope this helps to make clear where the border line lies. I won't take part here in further public discussion of this issue. Feel free to PM me anytime. I would have closed the thread too, but this is not my domain here. M. |

no worries
How you handled that publicly, is by far more useful to myself and many other devshed members than a private message would have been. It left me with the feeling that the the content of the forums are of greater value to you than the number of members it holds. So thank you for publicly posting this. I certainly appreciate your well thought out response. ![]() |
