Your Senator: Defending You From Camcorders!

This quote from MPAA spokesman Rich Taylor has got to be the most assinine thing I've ever seen in my life:
Quote:
"It's the first time the U.S. Senate has had legislation that specifically addresses the threat of camcording."

Yea.. go get 'em guys. Way to focus on the important issues there folks.

As usual, we find the two biggest imbeciles in congressional history at the center of this bill: Hatch and Fienstien. They're joined by a couple of other clueless folks who's time to pop out of the movie industry's pocket for a few minutes must've come up.

Full story is here. Illogical, frothing-at-the-mouth lunacy can be had on Slashdot (as usual), here:

Excellent. I was worried that the gov't wasn't going to find yet another way to solicit to big business, and at the same time, focus on non-violent crimes like file sharing. I shall sleep peacefully tonight, my friends!

I can't resist taking a jab at Hatch and Fienstien. Those two looney tunes ought to be locked away in solitary for the next 50 years. They're so dirty and underhanded they make Rockefellar look like he should've been sainted.

But.. really... think about how silly that sounds... the Senate has a proposal before it to protect from the threat of... uh... ummmmm.... camcorders???

I'm sorry... I'm supposed to respect my elected officials.... why again? Truth is stranger than fiction, I suppose.

I bet every camcorder enthusiast in America is wishing they had an ex-Hollywood star as the head of their association, though I don't recall ever hearing of a "right to bear portable recording devices" being enshrined in the US constitution. Obviously they're too dangerous.
