    Binary Conversion

Can someone explain Binary conversion to me? I just cannot understand it. Example: 111001,2 (2 is an exponent) = ________10. I also don't understand Binary Arithmetic, example 100
    + 11
    11.

    Any help would be appreciated.

Binary addition is just like decimal addition, you just have to "carry" much more often when you're working with small binary numbers.

For an 8 digit binary number (from the left) you have the 128s place, the 64s place, the 32s place, the 16s place, the 8s place, the 4s place, the 2s place, and the 1s place. For example 160 in binary is "10100000" and 129 in binary is "10000001".

So if you're adding two 1s for the same place, you change the result for that place to 0 and carry a 1 to the next higher place and repeat.
