The speed limit coming into Chicago is is 45mph. Understand that by the time I had driven this far I'd gone across half the country already and had done a lot of camping and recreation so I was in a very zen like state. So I set my cruise control for 45 and cruised on in. You'd have thought I was parked in the middle of the freeway.

Where is it 45? I've drive all the way through and don't remember it going under 55. That was coming from the North on I90 and then going into Indiana.

The speedlimits here are painfully slow -- so nobody even pretends to follow them (excpt for really, really old people who drive >20km/h below it and drive everyone nuts).

I like around 80 in my car on nice open roads, but don't drive nearly that fast in older neighborhoods or near castles where its just to dangerous. I like to stay just above 30 on my bicycle if its flat with low wind -- lower effort makes me get itchy.

I tend to keep it at +5 miles/hr over the posted speed limit, thus even if a cop stops you, you can plead you were driving the speed limit and either his speed gun or your speed gage are off. Actually they tend to not bother for 5 miles over the speed limit.

I'd be coming from California not Wisconsin so yeah different approach completely.

My ID-10-T personalized license plate nomination, however, goes to the numbskull on I-81 in Pennsylvania who passed me on an exit ramp and made it back onto the freeway by inches before totaling his (small, fiberglass) sports car into the barrier. That's what the passing lane on the LEFT side is for ... ? Ask your local trucker which side is which:

This place pretty much died a while back. Back in the prime years it was way more active.

I'm always too fast for the slow lane and too slow for the fast lane. Doing 75/80 and people STILL want to drive through me in the left lane. Where do you and your old corolla NEED to be right this instant? C'mon man : /

    You guys are slowpokes.
Functionality rules and clarity matters; if you can work a little elegance in there, you're stylin'.
If you can't spell "u", "ur", and "ne1", why would I hire you? 300 baud modem? Forget I mentioned it.

Right now kind of slow since it's been nonstop snowing for the last couple weeks. I swear we get an inch a day and the roads are never cleaned fully, which means drive way slower.
