Article Discussion: Mambo Open Source Content Management System

If you use a content management system (CMS) to run a site then you're probably familiar with Mambo. No not the dance - I'm talking about Mambo CMS a PHP-based Open Source CMS. Seeing as DevShed's CMS is based on this technology we thought it would be appropriate to give you a sneak peak at what we use to make sure that you continually get the best development content on the web. Steven Pignataro a highly active "Mamber" of the Mambo community takes us on a tour of the Mambo CMS.

I agree, this 3 page article was basically a list of features and that's it. The only comparison was that it was "better" than the other systems. How about talking about why DevShed decided to use it over other systems. This was a terrible article, if you can call it that.

Seriously, a screenshot showing an administration panel or something would be nice.
What we've been shown is just another glossy flyer intended to get people to click the links.

Edit: After looking at the Mambo site, I'm not sure I even want to take the time to download and look at it.

Actually, the article was posted as an agreement between the Mambo folks and Dev Shed. They agreed to help us customize and implement their CMS into systems, and we agreed to let them put up an article. Unfortunately, it was more of an Advertorial than an actual article, but in light of what they had done for us, we let them run it essentially as was. If they would care to respond and add more to the article, they're most welcome to.
