Re: editor
If you like emacs, there is a Python mode available, but I use the IDlE editor that comes with Python. There are many other options, including PythonWorks, from the Secret Labs, and if you are interested in a GUI Application Generator environment, you should certainly check out Boa Constructor. The Mozilla based Komodo project from ActiveState looks pretty cool too.
To find lot's of Python goodies quickly, see http://www.vex.net/parnassus/ Have fun! |

IDE & debugger
MacPython comes with a pretty decent Mac-specific Python IDE. A syntax coloring addon is available and the debugger is very easy to use.

I always use UltraEdit, for every programming language.

SciTE is the best!
I've been searching for the perfect text editor ever since the MS-DOS era and SciTE is the first to meet just about all my criteria (and more!).
I use it for all my text editing needs! |
