help with proper mapping for virtual sites
I inhereted a site and i am trying to fix annoying way that it was set up.
right now the site map looks something like
domain.com/java # where the java files go
domain.com/docs # this is the actual root directory in httpd.conf file
so to access my jsp pages you have type domain.com/java and then it will go to the java directory. i would like it to automatically go straight to the java directory for all web requests, so i changed the document root in the http.conf file, but now its not processing the java pages
here is what my virt host conf looks like
ServerAlias www.domain.com mail.domain.com
CustomLog /home/domains/domain.com/logs/domain.com-access_log common
Bandwidth all 640000
MinBandwidth all -1
#ScriptAlias /cgi-bin/ "/home/domains/domain.com/cgi-bin/"
Allow from all
php_flag engine On
AddType text/html .shtml
AddHandler server-parsed .shtm
# Is the Jakarta (JK) Module installed? This allows access to
# the Tomcat Engine (/usr/local/tomcat) to serve up Servlets
# and JSP files ....
# In the code below, we make an alias of /java to go to the
# Jakarta engine. However, files not in the WEB-INF directory
# (like gif images and static HTML files, but not JSP files)
# should be simply served up by Apache ...
JkMount /*.jsp ajp12
#JkMount /java/*.jsp ajp12
Alias /java /home/domains/domain.com/java
#Alias / /home/domains/domain.com/java
Options Indexes FollowSymLinks
<Location /java/WEB-INF/ >
deny from all
JkMount /java/* ajp12
#JkMount /*.jsp ajp12
thanks for any help

Doesn't run under WinMe
This step-by-step article is excellent as many others of this site, but its first line should be "doesn't run under WinME, 98 and 95".
For beginers like me, this remark would have saved time.

driver needs file permissions
So I ran into a problem not mentioned. I'm migrating from an existing (development) machine to our production server and when I copied the files over I didn't check their permissions: the owner of the mySQL process (and the mm.mySQL driver too I think) need to have permisstion to access your data files. The command to do this is chmod for those who may not know it.

Does anyone know where the 'connecting the dots' part of the article is? I really need it to complete my windows tomcat installation

I get the following error:

does anyone know how to fix this?
Re: jsp on IIS
Free eval of JRUN from macromedia - supports JSP on IIS and other web servers. The licensed version is expensive - $900
Re: jsp on IIS

apache & IIS
If I load apache on a Win 2000 machine, can I still run IIS if I assign a differnt TCP/IP port number to either web server?
Will this have any negative affects on the rest of the java environment, aside from needing to remeber the port designation on pages, calle, etc.?
