Re: help to compile ftp functions
Just configure back your php, make and make install
./configure --with-mysql=/usr/local/mysql \
etc ... (your own ext)
then configure the apache back
./configure --prefix=/usr/local/apachephp \
make and make install

ftp_chdir lays an egg if the directory name contains a space.
Is there a way around it?

Re: Blocking FTP Client access
As far as i understand it, yes it would be possible to setup the ftp server to allow this (it is actually the FTP server that you would have to setup)
the way i see it is if you limit the IP address allowed to access the ftp to the localhost (provided you have the FTP on the same machine as the www server)
a better way would be to bind the ftp server to the localhost address, this way, no-one except the local machine can posibly gain access to the server.
i hope this helps you !

Hey I am getting a similar error!
how do you get it so that the file is downloaded to the clientm instead of to just the server from the remote server?
