Role & Responsiblity

q Responsibilities of Software Engineer
q Responsible for successful maintenance of multiple releases with high quality and timely updates.
q Responsible for coordinating work teams and providing technical support to project team members
q Responsible for enhancing tools and processes to improve the quality and timeliness of critical updates while we offer new products and services to customers
q Identify, design, and implement processes and tools to improve effectiveness and efficiency of monitoring for critical updates to open source components, integrating updates in multiple code lines, performing builds, and performing tests.
q Provide expertise and leadership in 2-3 major components and languages
q Mentor and train new hires


Qualification& Experience

q BE/ B-Tech or BS in Computer Science or equivalent
q 3-9 years of work experience in the software industry
q Ability to do deep-dive in any of the languages/platforms used at SpikeSource including Java/C/C++/Perl/PHP/Python.
q Thorough understanding and strong experience in various aspects of software development life-cycle (SDLC) including porting, white-box testing, debugging, building, and packaging large code-lines.
q Expert in 2 or more of version control, build, code coverage, and test tools such as maven, ant, httpunit, cvs, subversion, phpcoverage, junit, simpletest, testgen4web, jmeter highly desired.
q Expert in 2 or more of Linux, Apache, JBoss, Tomcat, MySQL, PostgreSQL, Geronimo, Axis, Struts, RedCarpet.
q Process-oriented & Customer-focused, Pragmatic, analytical, and adept at prioritization and trade-off
q Experience white-box testing and/or code-line maintenance for a new startup in enterprise infrastructure software based on open standards and emerging technologies.
q Highly motivated, self-starter who can manage many tasks and meet aggressive deadlines. Previous experience in shipping a successfully deployed production quality products
q Flexible, confident, and enjoy the challenges of a fast-paced environment and multiplexing amongst multiple tasks and wearing multiple hats with strong interpersonal and communication skills
q Prior experience leading porting, testing, or maintenance efforts.
q Demonstrated expertise in a variety of the field's concepts, practices, and procedures.
