Automatic application upgrade

I have this desktop application which is being used by 100 users everyday. Whenever a user connects to the application via LAN and if a newer version of the application is available, then the current version of the application on user’s machine should be upgraded to the latest available version.

What would be the best way to achieve this?
Also, what are the considerations which should be kept in mind while developing such an application

Hi,

you don't mention your environment... If you are using Windows active directory you could cobble somthing together with logon scripts, ie to check a central place and compare current available version and currently installed version.
