Hi People,
After installing a new server I want it to run a CVS for my in & out functions. I dont know if any of you use ZDE, but I'd want to know what CVS would be good for interacting with this and runs on Windows. (i know...) If any of you have suggestions, please post them because I'm stuck. Thank you ![]()

I have no experience with CVSs or ZDE, but FWIW I've heard good things about Subversion: http://subversion.tigris.org/ so you might want to look at that...or not...whatever....

Moved from PHP Development to Development Software.
I agree with kuza55. Subversion (if Zend's IDE supports it) is very nifty. ![]()

[PHPNET]Zend Development Enviroment (ZDE)[/PHPNET] does not support Subversion (SVN)
at the current time and they keep saying that it will be out in the next release but it still has not happened. I was told that SVN would be supported in the next release when I was still using 4.x ZDE is now up to 5.5.0 and as of yet there is still no support of SVN. As well their CVS client leaves a lot to be desired. I have to periodically tell ZDE that I am not using CVS then re-setup the CVS for the project. Also forget telling the CVS client to Commit the entire site's changes, you have to commit each file individually. In my mind this is a great way for me to forget to commit a file that I was working on early in my coding session. I'm submitting this as a bug and we'll see how soon it gets fixed, if ever. --Jeff Quote:

I don't see why not in this instance. The post is relevant to anyone who finds this thread through a search and doesn't just try to solve a specific problem that an OP will have solved/abandoned long ago.

Actually Subversion does work in the latest Zend 5.5 - but it's a bit dodgy, and many people complain of it being too slow. But it doesn't really matter because it's better to use TortoiseSVN from the shell anyway.
As for CVS, I used to use WinCVS with Zend, and it worked well.
