Arrow Discussion Forum getting spammed

I run a discussion forum on my site, and we are sufferring a lot of trouble and harrassment from users who use anonymous internet surfer programs ("IP masks") to avoid our banning of their IP addresses. Is there any way to get round these programs, or to discern the users' real IPs so that we can contact their ISPs and complain about them?

Any help appreciated. I am quite an experienced perl programmer, if that helps

Don't know if this will help

Hello,
I have had problems with spammers on one of my sites. Soon as I found a way to remove their messages easily, they left the site. You may already be doing that. Just wondering if there is some way you can view the messages before they get posted on the site, that way they can be screened before they are posted. These people will give up once they realise their posts don't make it to the site. You might even be able to set it up so that you only have to check new IP addresses that aren't already members of your site. Spammers are a pain - best of luck with it.

All the Best,
Brad
