Eclipse Find/Replace across project?
Hi guys -
I'm working with Eclipse, which I love so far, but I've just found my first real problem with the platform...unless I'm missing something, it's not possible to find/replace across an entire project. All I've been able to find is find/replace within a single file, which kinda stinks ![]() So, am I missing something? Can anyone reccommend a good tool to do this? For now, I'm going to use Dreamweaver to do it. MPEDrummer |

i think there are plugins for it that if you go to:
http://www.eclipseplugincentral.com/ also, jEdit has a very nice find/replace dialog |

refactor - rename
Have you tried the Refactor - menu ?
Click on Refactor and then on Rename. I must admit I haven't used it for a whole project but I think it's worth the try. |

I have not tried that, but I will this afternoon.

I'm using PHPEclipse (for PHP development) and the refactor menu is not available.
However, in looking for that, I found my solution. If you hit Ctrl-H, you're taken to a search dialog, which has exactly what I'm looking for - find and replace across the entire project. MPEDrummer |

Thanks for letting us know what the solution is.
ABout the refactor : I must admit I have installed the MyEclipse plugin. I'm not sure, but perhaps the refactoring was part of MyEclipse, not eclipse. |
