Eclipse & Java Problem

I've installed the j2sdk 1.4.2 and also downloaded Eclipse. When I try to run Eclipse I get the message that it can't find any JRE or JDK installed on the machine as designated by the Path variable.

I have changed the Path variable to point to the javaw.exe directory (C:\j2sdk\bin\) and have checked that it's worked in Command Prompt.

Typing PATH gives:
PATH=C:\WINDOWS\system32;C:\WINDOWS;C:\WINDOWS\System32\Wbem;C:\PROGRA~1\COMMON~1\GTK\2.0\bin;C:\j2s dk\jre\bin\javaw.exe

I can't see where the problem is, any suggestions?
