Eclipse question

For all you Eclipse users out there:
Is there an Eclipse plug-in (or even native support that I don't know about) that allows a person to edit a project on another server?

Currently, I VNC into the server and open Eclipse on that system and edit project files. I'd like to keep Eclipse on my local machine and edit those same files. They are both on the same network.

I'm sure it can be done by creating a share and navigating that share when I open the project. But I really don't want to open a share on the server. I was wondering if anyone knows of any other way this can be done.
