For those of you who use NOTEPAD.. Lets say you get an error on line 333 in a file that has 450 lines. Do you know a way to go straight to a line number, or do you count the lines until you get to 333?

    Moved to Development Software

I can't believe in 6 pages of discussion *no one* mentions the Zend PHP IDE.

    Just amazing!

CTRL - G works fine for me.

I have used just about every free and not so free editor on the market and haven't gotten much results with them.

However, I have been able to develop some massive. complex, and time consuming scripts using Winsyntax 2.0. It has all the features of notepad, only with a few extra features. Some of which are line counting, indention sticking, 3 different selection modes, a file manager, file tab, and many more features.

It also has syntax highlighting for CSS, HTML, SQL, POSTGRESQL, PHP, Javascript, and INI.

Yeah, since I reopened this thread for discussion again. Haha!

As for me, I *have* to have a line counter. Indention doesn't matter since I can read my code without indentions, because I coded it that way so I know.

Ctrl-g should bring up a nice 'Goto Line' dialog box. You can find it in Edit - Go To. I can't believe that anyone would tolerate notepad for any serious coding.

Incidentally, if you're ever working in a collaborative enviroment, you will never be forgiven for not indenting.
