Help with Kdevelop Custom Tools

Help with Kdevelop Custom Tools

Hey all, I am using Kdevelop 3.3.1 and i'm having trouble adding some custom tools to the Tools menu.

Here is what I want to do..

I want to add a tool that will compile the current file using javac

and I also want to add a tool that will run an applet file using appletviewer.

so far, I have found the place in the Settings / Configure Kdevelop / external tools / Tools menu & File Context Menu

When I add an entry for javac, and then open the source file in the editor and then click tools / (my utility) and it does nothing.

I have also tried adding it as a file context menu, that is where you right click on the tab for the current source file and then select (my utility) from there and it still doesnt do anything.

ANy suggestions ?
