Looking for a CMS system for a newspaper without MySQL

I'm looking for a CMS for a small local newspaper I'm volunteering for but they don't have any SQL databases nor are they going to get them. Non-profit what can you do. lol. ANY suggestion would be good. The problem isn't wiht design or anything I really just need a less tedious way to add articles.

Based on your description it's not clear why they couldn't use mysql. As long as they have a windows, linux or unix operating system they should be able to run mysql.

You mentioned SQL in your post. SQL is the langauge used to query relational databases (oracle, mysql, postgresql, ms sql server, etc.). Most modern databases are relational.

Thumbs up Newspaper CMS Solution

Have you looked into iWebPress? They provide newspaper content management software that integrates into your workflow and then instantly publishes to web. I strongly reccommend looking into it. They are the best solution I have found for newspaper content management (newspaper CMS). www.iwebpress.com is the website.

You can download MySQL for free and you can find webhosting for a few dollars a month. Virtually every CMS are using some sort of SQL database, why avoid MySQL?

you could try LIMBO
Limbo is a CMS, based in mambo (www.mamboserver.com) which does not use SQL, but your hosting must have PHP to use it...

good luck

A php based system without mysql on it ?? thats like cursing in church!!!.

For a newspaper CMS you would need a serversided language so guessing you dont have a db you wont get it up so.

What about trying to locate a sponser for the server ? Guess someone will give you the space for some ads!! ask local hosting companies they will surely give you a small account for some ads space.

Then you will get your MySQL and your options on free CMS applications is HUGE! :-)
