Looking for software--
I currently run a website that has dozens of articles in HTML format. I'm looking to index the articles, as well as split very large articles into several smaller pages. Is there software that can help me do this?

Sounds like Macromedia Dreamweaver would be your best option (or, another WYSIWYG HTML editor, such as Adobe's GoLive, for instance)
