Need Bulk Email Software For Newsletter
I have just won a bid to handle the website for www.mormonchamberofcommerce.com . Their members get an email every week. I need to purchase some software to send out emails to each of the members. There are over 100,000 of them.
I done some research and know that you can somehow use PHP and MySQL to send them out. Does that affect your ISP for load restrictions? I am not a programmer and can't afford to hire one in my budget yet.
I need a referral to a good company to will sell bulk email software.

Have you tried searching Hotscripts, Sourceforge, Google, etc (links in my sig)?

I have not searched the code because I am not a programmer. I am a website designer.
I suspect the code is not that simple and the complete instructions on how to program in php and MySql to send out bulk email is more complicated than I can handle.

A search for 'bulk email' in the PHP section of Hotscripts returned some install-and-run PHP/MySQL apps that would require little to no programming knowledge on your part, and would get you up and running w/ your emails.

Sorry to break up the party, but you might want to look at ezmlm with qmail for a really robust bulk-emailing solution. That's assuming you have your own mail server (or root access to a UNIX server on a permanent internet connection).
By the way, slamming out 100,000 emails every week is very likely to upset your ISP. It would be a good idea to check with them beforehand.

a definite problem... Should look into a private server to do this type of mailing..
I've used BigSender before, and that works nicely. It's written in Perl.

You must forgive me. I don't know what you are talking about. It was my understanding that there are programs out there already written that I can use. Then I would need to get a seperate server (Bulk Email Server) to handle all of the delivery. Is that right? Can you recommend a bulk email server?

You need one program to handle the list (unsubscribes, distributing messages to the list, interfacing with the MTA, etc.) and another to actually send the mails (an MTA). qmail and ezmlm are an excellent solution for this.
