PHP editor
Hi
I have just started developing with PHP. I have developed with Java for four years using the Eclipse enviroment. Is this the best editor for developing PHP or what are people's view on the best PHP editor out there. (bearing in my mind I want to access multiple PHP files quickly and frequently) thanks |

The best editor IMO is Wordpad.

Zend's Studio (link in my sig) is hands down the best PHP IDE on the market.
Another option is PHPEclipse, a PHP plug in for the Eclipse IDE.

Can you use MS Interdev? If so, how would I go about that?

I can't imagine MS supporting an open source language in their development tools. |

Yeh, I used to use notepad all the time. Now since I started using Visual Studio, I have to say you are just making life harder for yourself without a great IDE. But then again, I heard ppl say this before I started with VS, and never bothered. |

Another vote for Macromedia Dreamweaver MX
but that's expensive... A cheaper solution that I have developed with for years is EditPlus 2, a lightweight text editor with syntax highlighting, spellchecker and a buch of other useful options like FTP integration and more. my 2 cents Lito

No-one's mentioned vi yet?!
Why, it's the best, just a bit more difficult to learn... You can setup syntax highlighting nicely as well.
