Subscription Payment System

I've read through a lot of tutorials and have found many solutions on accepting credit card payments online. The thing is the service which my site is providing is a subcription service meaning that reoccuring payments occur. Currently I am using paypal as the transaction gateway for my site which is fine but as most of you already know, running an e-commerce business is more or less synonomous with credit card payment. So if any of you are familiar with a subcription system using credit cards, any information would be appreciated. To be more specific, the site requires that users can view their payment status (a billing management system) and refunds can be made within within 9 days of purchase although a 7 day refund policy would also do fine.
