What Web Development Language

PHP, ASP.NET, Ruby on Rails, Python, or what others what do u think? and why?

maybe also discuss abt the:
- speed of development
- performance
- manageability, scalability, maybe because of provided classes, OO features or whatever

I would vote for ASP.NET because it has built-in classes to do whatever we want. It increases the developer productivity.

If you need very much customized solution and may need third party scripts or components integrated then I think PHP will be the lead due to its open source nature. You may find a lot of free solutions for your requirement if used PHP.
