Looking for a lightweight document management solution

Essentially, I am attempting to set up an online repository of various document types, from .doc to rawtext to .pdf; Something similar to a much-lighter version of JSTOR, for example. Preferably, the ideal software would can a developed taxonomy by which to organize the files.

I've searched far and wide and the closest I've found to what I'm looking for is either Knowledgetree or Alfresco, but I'm wondering if there might be a better solution.

    Thanks for the help!

I recommend you DocumentLite, that's a better solution for you.

This program has open source, easy to use. DocumentLite was developed to meet our needs and business rules. The software has many useful functional opportunities.
