    Creating a development environment

I have a PC running windows. I want to get a proper development environment as usually i am hacking around in iis locally on my PC.

I want to start using git, node.js, grunt, bower and Yeoman etc. I dont really want my pc to be littered with all these utilities.

I have previously used virtual box and installed LAMP onto it which has worked quite well.

Do any of you run virtual box in the same way or just use your pc or is there anything else that you use for development?

    thanks

Virtual machines are definitely a great and easy way to set-up test systems for various scenarios.

I use Virtual box on my own private PC.

For working place, we use servers with VMware.
