Hello all,
I apologize if this question has already been answered. Here's my dilemma: I have exchange running at the office. This handles all of our user's emails. The windows 2000 domain is let's say 'abc.com'. Our external webiste is also 'abc.com' which is hosted by a hosting company. we have an mx record at our hosting company pointing 'mail.abc.com' to our exchange server. everything works fine, however I have problems when trying to send email from the server at the hosting company (eg. from scripts) to 'anyuser@abc.com'. Is there any way I can have a separte MX record for mail at the 'abc.com' hosted site (eg. 'hostedmail.abc.com') to be able to send email to users at my exchange server even though the user is not a user in the FreeBSD server that my hosting company has with our website? I hope this makes some sense.... Thanks in advance for your help |

If your exchange can't receive incoming mail, that's another unrelated problem. |

Thanks for your reply.
FYI: I did search the forums before posting my question. I solved my problem, I was having trouble sending email using 'sendmail' from my webserver via scripts to my exchange box because all mail would be routed locally. I allowed exchange to accept mail in 'user@mail.abc.com' format as well as 'user@abc.com'. Now when I send mail from webserver to 'user@mail.abc.com' it gets properly routed. Thanks again for taking the time to answer my post. |
