Authoritative DNS

I am setting up a host and want to handle dns setup for customers. How would I go about registering ns1.domain ... etc so that customers can setup their domains to point to it?

Make sure you have multiple static IPs and a working reverse DNS. If you don't, don't host DNS for others because you don't qualify.

You need to purchase it thru a registrar like www.godaddy.com. If you are merely asking for a DNS tutorial/howto, sorry, here's the WRONG place, go search google.com or hire a consultant.

Just create a zone record for your customers domains. Anyhow your question appears to be too broad, that's why I said If you are merely asking for a DNS tutorial/howto, sorry, here's the WRONG place, go search google.com or hire a consultant.
