Authorization code & yahoo
Does anybody out there know how you get the authorization code for a domain name registered at yahoo. I'm trying to transfer a .org domain name from yahoo to godaddy.
Thanks, |

I assume that the authorization is taken from an email sent to the email address specified under the administrative contact.

I have had the same trouble. GoDaddy fails the xfer request due to Bad Auth Code.
I have entered yahoo's "Registry Key" for the domain but this wasn't it and so far, Yahoo help has not responded with the Auth Code. All I can get from their help is that "yes", .ORG transfers require an Auth Code. Sure would like to know how to pry this out of Yahoo. |

Hi,
Sorry I don't use Yahoo so I wouldn't know the exact place, but having helped several people before with .org transfers, I'd suggest looking in the "Extra Info" about the domain, or in the "Domain Notes". I would also try to find it in the original email you received when you registered the domain. If its not there, and it probably isn't, I think your only recourse will be to pester Yahoo support enough to give it to you. Regards, Alan ____________ DNS Services: Nettica.com |
