auto slave setup on ns2

I am wondering if there is a way to setup my slave dns server to auto create the salve records when ever i add a new master server on my primary dns server? oh ya this is on Bind

Yes. Increment the Serial on your master dns and send a HUP signal to your primary dns server and that's it.

I am not sure that answer fully understood the question.

I too need to do the same thing. I have a primary server that acts as primary for many domains. Whenever I add a new zone I have to edit the conf file on the secondary. Is there a way to not have to edit the conf file on the secondary?

The answer below seems to tell how to update an existing zone, not auto generate a new one.

I am running bind 9 tho. That is newer.

Well there is a way, but it's not easy. You'd have to setup some kind of scripted system where you have a client on the ns1 telling a server on the ns2 all the zones it needs to have. You can invent your own protocol and everything.

If there are already popular solutions that do this, I don't know of them.
