Bertelsen.ca domain propagtion issues.

I'm having some problems, that I'm not quite sure of an explanation for and I really need help with the logic behind it all.

Ok, I switched over hosting solutions, from www.canhost.ca to a reseller's package with www.newista.com.

My hosting on both sides is still active and I have already reiceved confirmation from canhost, (and I have checked with a whois.cira.ca) that my dns has been changed, to:

ns1.newista.com
ns2.newista.com

So this is the second day, I realize that it takes a couple of hours sometimes for CIRA and the rest of the worlds, DNS to propagate completely, but thier is something funny going on with my website.

When I type mail.bertelsen.ca or ftp.newista.com I am redirected to the newista hosting ( i know this because the ensim login shows up, and I didn't have ensim control panel with my previous host ). However, when I type anything_else.bertelsen.ca it remains pointing to my previous host @ canhost.

Is it just a matter of time? Or is there something that could potentially be wrong?

Also, it shows me that everything is aok from the dns point of view from here

http://network-tools.com/nslook/Default.asp when I type bertelsen.ca in the domain name section... it shows the proper name servers...

This is not a DNS related issue. Both the mail and www domains point to the same IP. It is the webserver that is misconfigured.

Exclamation

mail.bertelsen.ca directs to the Ensim login page
ftp.newista.com directs to the Ensim login page

I wish you to ask us directly, however it will be good to give some Ensim information at here too;

As Ensim and many of the Web Hosting Control Panel defaults, hosted domains at a datacenter have the defaults A Records which assigned on the main ip of the Datacenter.

ftp. allyourdomain.com
mail.allyourdomain.com
have A Records as default according to the server main ip.

So there is nothing wrong with that.
It always works as this.

The only thing that different is ip based and the acounts which works via the reseller account whom have its own nameservers for their reseller accounts.

If the site is ip based;
ftp. yourdomain.com
mail.yourdomain.com
have A Records as default according to the yourdomain.com main ip.
Also for the resellers whom have its own nameservers will have the first DNS ip as default for the ;
ftp. allyourdomain.com
mail.allyourdomain.com
.

Take it easy
Thanks

Thanks for the update. I got it figured though, my ISP hasn't updated it's dns yet, is all. If you are in the US then you would see it go directly to a placeholder page whereas if you are in Canada ( w/ sympatico )... so it's just a matter of me jumping the gun and not being patient enough for the complete propagation of the name servers...

It's just taking longer to propagate than I originally expected, if you are in the US you can see the placeholder page, whereas if I type in www.bertelsen.ca ( from Canada, using sympatico, it hasn't updated ) it directs me to the old ip of my prior host.

http://www.dnsreport.com/tools/dnsr...in=bertelsen.ca

everything seems ok.
I dont think it caused from your ISP, maybe the whole GLOBAL DNS SERVERS of ICANN doesnt updated since it hasnt 48 hours old yet.
But there will be one more issue that cause different A Records for the subdomains as you reported, which happens when you restore your old hosting Ensim data on the new Esnim account with "recurse", it may overwrite on the default(must be) A records .

It's fine, it just hasn't propagated yet, so I'm impatient :P
