alright i have a domain name and a recently set up dns server, it all works and resolves from the root server's point of view, but my isp's dns cache is not refreshing to reflect the changes. now i have heard of slow isp refreshes, but its been 4 days. is here any way to bypass their cache until they flush? i already e-mailed them about flushing it, dont know if they will or not...

I'm not an expert, but when we config our dns server to
forward the entire query to the ISP name server, the ISP name server should cache the record for a domain for a time that the domain set the TTL. Let's say I have a domain and the TTL for it is 24 hours, the ISP name server should cache the record for only 24 hour, if the ISP caches the record for more time, then the ISP is suck, and we can do nothing. Well, almost nothing, we can do all the query direct to the Root server, without forward, but it will be a wasted traffic. ______________________________________________ Free Dynamic DNS and Static DNS Services http://linuxrc.org |
