Can I do this with a CNAME?

I have searched everywhere. How can I point example.com/sample to sample.example.com? CNAME?

You cannot do it with DNS. Set up your webserver to redirect users accordingly.

With the help of DNS you can do it

Errr... Technically this isn't something DNS can do, it only understands hostnames and IPs - not server directories.

A lot of MDNS providers, like Zoneedit for example, have WebForward services wherein they'll send your traffic to a server and redirect for you.

CNAME is simply hostname to hostname.
