dns email server
hi,
iam running sendmail on my linux comp and i want to have a @name.com for my emails from my server. first i would like to know if this is a dns thing, that controls the hostname. and if it is, could u recommend a program to run is? thank for your help. |

$ man named if not there, install a pre-packaged jobbie of Bind. or if your confortable download the gzip'd tarball and build it. http://www.isc.org/ISC/MIRRORS.html |

As for DNS, you should have at least 2 records.
1) An MX record to show that @name.com is a mail domain name.com. MX mail.name.com. 2) An A record to specify the IP address for your mail server pointed to above mail.name.com. A 127.0.0.1
