DNS Help
Hi,
I have a 7.1 redhat linux server and I just bought a domainname. Can someone please tell me or point me somewhere that will show me what I need to do to be able to have my domain ex) URL be able to be accessed from the web. I am quite comfortable with running my own web server. But other then that I guess I need to use bind, and then point my domain name provider(verio) to my local bind server? Thanks so much! |

First off, start here and learn how to post a descriptive subject title. This is DNS forum, we all know you need help in DNS, so using DNS Help is absolutely useless.
>> Can someone please tell me Can't tell as there are too much to tell, unless you have something specific. >> or point me somewhere http://ftp.dulug.duke.edu/pub/redha...OWTOS/DNS-HOWTO >> I am quite comfortable with running my own web server You need TWO static IPs or be able to find someone to do secondary for you. >> I guess I need to use bind BIND is the most insecure and shi_tty software on earth, don't use it if at all possible. Start here then here to find out more. |
