Now 202.63.167.194 is not assigned. Still www.networkshastrihall.com is directed to that number. I am stuck up. Thanks for support. |

Hi SilentRage,
It's pinging now. Following are outputs : ############## [root@shastrihallweb root]# ping www.networkshastrihall.com PING www.networkshastrihall.com (202.63.167.192) from 202.63.167.192 : 56(84) bytes of data. 64 bytes from 202-63-167-192.exatt.com (202.63.167.192): icmp_seq=1 ttl=64 time=0.031 ms 64 bytes from 202-63-167-192.exatt.com (202.63.167.192): icmp_seq=2 ttl=64 time=0.030 ms 64 bytes from 202-63-167-192.exatt.com (202.63.167.192): icmp_seq=3 ttl=64 time=0.034 ms 64 bytes from 202-63-167-192.exatt.com (202.63.167.192): icmp_seq=4 ttl=64 time=0.029 ms 64 bytes from 202-63-167-192.exatt.com (202.63.167.192): icmp_seq=5 ttl=64 time=0.033 ms 64 bytes from 202-63-167-192.exatt.com (202.63.167.192): icmp_seq=6 ttl=64 time=0.033 ms 64 bytes from 202-63-167-192.exatt.com (202.63.167.192): icmp_seq=7 ttl=64 time=0.034 ms --- www.networkshastrihall.com ping statistics --- 7 packets transmitted, 7 received, 0% loss, time 6014ms rtt min/avg/max/mdev = 0.029/0.032/0.034/0.002 ms ####### ####### [root@shastrihallweb root]# host www.networkshastrihall.com www.networkshastrihall.com has address 202.63.167.192 ######## When i accessed you URL "http://www.dollardns.org/cgi-bin/DNSCrawler/index.pl?server=a.root-servers.net&name=networkshastrihall.com&type=ANY&lr=1&submit=DS" and checked for Reverse IP It shows dns1.exatt.co and dns2.exatt.com. Is it O.K. I thought it should be ns1.networkshastrihall.com and ns2.networkshastrihall.com Please explain. Thanks for great support. |

What you did by clicking reverse IP on a domain, is my script resolved the domain to an IP address (your IP address) then it formatted the IP into a reverse IP lookup. It then asked various servers starting with a.root-servers.net what domain is associated with that IP address. The person or company who registered "exatt.com" also registered that IP. That person or company is the one who determines what the IP resolves to. If that company is your ISP there is a chance that you can have them forward lookups for that IP to your dns servers so that you can specify what the IP resolves to.

Hi SilentRage,
Need some more support. I think with all this IP 202.63.167.192 is assigned to www.networkshastrihall.com also ns1.networkshastrihall.com is 202.63.167.192 ns2.networkshastrihall.com is 202.63.167.192 www.networkshastrihall.com is also assigned to 202.63.167.192 mail.networkshastrihall.com is 202.63.167.192 Does this mean there is no DNS preblem now OR otherway Does DNS settings are O.K. I have setup my apache web server as per apache documentation. When I started apache server it gives following error : #################### [root@shastrihallweb root]# /etc/init.d/httpd restart Stopping httpd: [FAILED] Starting httpd: httpd: Could not determine the server's fully qualified domain name, using 127.0.0.1 for ServerName no listening sockets available, shutting down [FAILED] ##################### I know I am asking is not related to DNS but want to know whether this is due to DNS settings or not? Help appreciated. Thanks for support. |

That's a completely httpd.conf configuration error. Nothing to do with DNS.
