DNS Private Nameservers

I'm currently using DNS for my nameservers.

I'm thinking of creating private nameservers (ns1.ebloggy.com and ns2.ebloggy.com)

Currently my zoneedit nameservers are
ns19.zoneedit.com -> 69.10.134.196
ns18.zoneedit.com -> 65.125.227.35

I have registered ns1.ebloggy.com -> 69.10.134.196 and ns2.ebloggy.com -> 65.125.227.35 and my registrar, and create similar A records for them at Zoneedit.

I have also added NS records (ns1.ebloggy.com and ns2.ebloggy.com) at Zoneedit.

If I change my Nameserver Records at my registrar to ns1.ebloggy.com instead of ns19.zoneedit.com, would it work?

My SOA record states that my primary nameserver is ns19.zoneedit.com

Yup, it should. As long as it remains resolvable.
