DNS question

DNS question
I had a friend register a domain name some time ago. I found some cheap hosting and started an account. My ? is they say I have to change or the DNS #s to point to there server, I can not figure out how to change or add these numbers. The domain has never been hosted on a server.

Thank in advance
Gofish

>> I found some cheap hosting and started an account

Because that cheap hosting needs to host your DNS.

>> I can not figure out how to change or add these numbers

You need to transfer your domain over to them. Contact your Registrar (where your friend purchased the domain from) and tell them to switch the nameservers to the ones your cheap hosting provides. If you don't know who is your Registrar, run whois lookup to find out.
