    DNS Server Behind A Firewall

    Hey there,
I am trying to run a DNS server on a Windows 2000 Server. Using internal networks this works fine and i can use it to browse the Net. But when i go external and use my IP as my DNS then it does not work!!!!!! Which is annoying. My server is running WinRoute as a Firewall and as NAT table. I have configured my port maps to let Port 53 in which i was told was the right port for a Microsoft DNS Server, but still it does not work! I really need someone to tell me what is going wrong. I was using a free ISP at the time and i set my DNS to my IP. If anyone could help then that would be great!
    Cheers

Does your dns server know to listen on more than one network interface?

And you may have to allow both TCP and UDP traffic on port 53
