DNS server setup
Hello,
I am trying to setup a DNS server on a Windows 2000 server. I have registered a domain name lets say "example.com" which is currently pointing to the server where I am hosting the DNS. What I need is that when some body looks up for "ftp.example.com", the request comes to my DNS server which returns the ip address of the ftp server. questions --------- 1. Am I correct to host the DNS server for this purpose? 2. If I am, then I did configure the forward lookup zone and added the host (ftp) in that. But when I try to do a nslookup for ftp.example.com, it does not return the ip address of the ftp server. What am i missing??? Thanks |

you're missing the real domain in your post so that I can make sure it is working fine, and if not, why it isn't.
