dns server working, now what
ok, so I got my dns server working for my lan. From outside my lan, I can use nslookup to make queries using my dns.
So I got foobar.com as my domain name and gate.foobar.com as my primary dns server. This works internally. Now, how do I set up the so that people from outside my lan trying to get foobar.com are directed to my dns server. If I go to my registrar and put gate.foobar.com as my primary dns server, how does the registrar knows where to look for gate.foobar.com in the first place?

I've already described this in the other topic. You must tell your registar both domains and IPs.

Cool. The problem was that one of the registrars didn't let you do this, so I never knew about that option. I have another domain name and that one does let me do it.
Thanks silent. |
