We have two DNS servers in Integration:
fidc1 - 172.25.220.30 fidc2 - 172.25.220.32 These are Windows domain controllers. When I attempt to do a lookup from a Unix host using those boxes, of something that doesn't exist I get back : [root@fitmpindexc1r1 root]# nslookup thing Server: 172.25.220.30 Address: 172.25.220.30#53 ** server can't find thing: SERVFAIL It tells me that the server has failed. Not that the entry doesn't exist. please help me out of this, this is very urgent |

have you used tools on the DNS server to make sure they are working?
You may not have it set to respond to queries on the IP address, look at "allow-queries" in the DNS documentation |
