DNS Update/Manger
I am using MS DNS on W2K server. I have a bunch on domains on the server and have been using another server for DNS (Linux based). I simply need to create a DNS entry for each domain and then modify appropriately (i.e. change MX, etc.).
The process to manual enter/modify the names will take a good amount of time. Is there any tool available to help with the process? I found the DNS directory and simply thought to copy an existing record, modify and rename but that doesn't seem to be working ![]() Thanks! |

On your linux server in the named config file, if your 2k server's ip is set as trusted you should be able create secondary zones on the 2k server that will copy the records from the linux box. You could then just change the Zone type. I do not think that you can copy the zones as primary. I have never attempted this, so my answer may be of no use.
