Dear All,
We currently are sharing email services of our parent company (using MS Exchange server & aliasing as we both have a different domain name) & they have registered our DNS domain & has the MX pointers in their DNS servers. We now are planning to shift email (iMail this time)/Web/FTP/SQL services to a hired dedicated server solution with another ISP located in a different area. Can anyone pl let us know the steps to be taken to carry out this transition as smooth as possible? (mainly concerning mailboxes, users, DNS, MX records, web, mail forwarding etc.). Your help is really appreciated. Regards. Sunthar Vali. |

First off, here is not a place to post a howto, you need to google yourself. The best I can do is to tell you the steps briefly:
1) Get SQL/FTP/www and iMail up and running on the new location 2) Tell your parent company to change the MX record for your domain to point to the new location 3) Tell them to change the A record for www to the new location |
